However, despite all the hard work that goes into making your hair look fantastic, we all know that one person who has immaculate hair and doesn’t even need to try. Are they born with it? Is it hard work? One thing’s for sure, they seem to have it easier than the rest of us.

Perhaps it’s not a secret but instead, a solid hair care regime. There are some golden rules that everyone should follow as soon as possible if they want good hair, and it’s up to you to follow them in order to get the most out of your products, styling and washing. To help you out, here are a couple of essential hair care tips.

Use a towel to dry your hair
You’ve probably heard this tip many times before, but the best way to dry your hair is to let it sit naturally and air dry it. It’s understandable that you want to use a hair dryer to speed things up, but you’re going to dry out your hair because of the hot air. If you must use a hair dryer, make sure it’s set to at least a warm or cool setting. It’ll take longer to dry, but it’s worth it if you want to keep your hair looking fantastic for the long term. Microfiber hair towels make fantastic alternatives to regular towels because they’re able to soak in water a lot more efficiently than regular towels, and they’re reliable and sturdy for the price. Once you’ve pat it dry, allow the air to naturally dry your hair and you’ll find it becomes smoother and softer. To further improve your hair, apply some leave-in conditioner after you’ve finished washing and drying.

It’s all in the shower
Beautiful hair is a lot to do with your showers. Make sure you don’t use water that is too hot because it will quickly dry your hair. Use cool or warm water to wash your hair and avoid exposing it to hot temperatures. When shampooing your hair, don’t throw a huge amount onto your hair and spread it through. For shampoo, you want to focus on the roots and you want to focus on the tip for conditioner. Gently massage the shampoo into your scalp and avoid scrubbing the ends because it could damage them.

Brushing your hair
If you aren’t already brushing your hair at least twice a day, then you need to start doing so. Make sure you aren’t brushing your hair when it’s wet because it’s much more susceptible to damage when wet. Allow it to thoroughly dry before you even take a brush close to it. When brushing, make sure you don’t start the stroke from the roots of your hair. Start at the tips and gently brush down, then work your way up to the roots. You also need to keep your hair brushes clean because they can easily start to harbour bacteria and grime.
